"Encourage, Uplift, and Inspire for the cause of Christ!"
WELCOMING YOU HOME
We are a life-giving, multi-cultural, multi-generational church where people of different races, backgrounds, and walks of life come together to worship, be inspired in their love for God, to develop relationships and be empowered to live out His purpose for our lives.
May our ministry and congregation offer you the opportunity to grow spiritually; your burdens be lifted; and may you feel comforted as the Lord reveals His plan and purpose in your life. We at Courtland Ave. Church of Christ want you to be inspired and encouraged to become active and involved in one of the many ministries that the Lord’s church has to offer.
Please accept our invitation to worship with us and to grow in Christ together!
ABOUT OUR CHURCH
At Courtland, we believe in providing a comfortable & relaxing environment. Any person is more than welcome to come dressed in casual attire such as jeans, shorts, t-shirts etc. If you don't have a bible, that's fine. We place all bible verses on our projector screen so everyone can see.
If you have children, don't worry; we have a fully staffed nursery with a safe environment for children ages 0 to 3.
Courtland Avenue Church of Christ has been in existence for approximately 85 years. Formerly called the Laurel Street Church of Christ, the church has a rich history. It was established in 1935 under the preaching of Bro. F.L. Thompson.
The Courtland Ave. Church of Christ is modeled after the New Testament Church found in the bible.
At Courtland Ave. Church of Christ, we believe in having a vision for our congregation. Our vision is informed by the word of God. In Matthew 28: 18-20, Christians were given the Great Commission: “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
